This still life of a basket on a table was more complex than it may appear. The background was constructed from a variety of maple, pear and miscellaneous Fall leaves with much attention to the light. The table was constructed from leaves I pressed when visiting the Caribbean. The daisy petals were created primarily from white onion skin and a few from birch bark for shadowing. Other botanicals include larkspur, euphorbia, lobelia, black cohash and assorted ferns. The butterfly wings are real with a leaf for the body and lily filaments for the antennae.
